and critical procedures performed during the finishing phase of orthodontic treatment.1 Proper torque positions the root in a physiological perio dontal situation because it ensures both appropriate occlusalforce distribution and adequate thickness of the vestibular cortical plate. In a case where gingival recession is combined with significant torque abnormality, can torque correction also in duce an improvement of the periodontal lesion? This article addresses that question with a perio dontal application of a lingual beta titanium spring,2,3 using bracketless fixed orthodontics.3

The correction of interarch malocclusions using a fixed force module.
This article describes the use of a flexible force module (the Jasper Jumper) that can be incorporated into existing fixed appliances to correct various types of sagittal malocclusion. Essentially the spring mechanism described in this article is a modification of the original bite jumping mechanism of Herbst. The flexible spring module provides greater freedom of mandibular movement than is po...

Our aim in this article was to demonstrate unexpected posttreatment changes in the labiolingual position of the mandibular anterior teeth associated with the use of FSW retainers. Methods: During a 3-year period, patients attending the postgraduate orthodontic...
متن کاملFiber- Reinforced Composite for Orthodontic Anchorage Technique
Introduction: In orthodontic treatment, adequate anchorage is necessary to move the intended teeth. In some cases, just anterior teeth are malaligned, while posterior occlusion is acceptable. Therefore, the posterior teeth could be integrated by fiber-reinforced composite (FRC) to provide a rigid anchorage. This method proved advantageous since brackets are bonded just to anter...

متن کاملStability of anterior openbite correction with multiloop edgewise archwire therapy: A cephalometric follow-up study.
Successful treatment of anterior openbite malocclusion is considered one of the most challenging areas in orthodontics. This study was designed to evaluate the treatment effects of the multiloop edgewise archwire therapy in openbite correction and to investigate the stability of correction during a 2-year follow-up period. The subjects consisted of 55 white patients who presented with anterior ...
